| I found Wu's Tai Chi Chi Chuan Academy Bethnal Green quite by chance; I wasn’t looking for Tai Chi in particular, but knew I needed something immersive. Having been a regular Pilates practitioner at the local Yoga studio, I learned that a Tai Chi academy had opened its doors in the adjoining space. I was going through a period of profound grief and was still searching for a mental and physical diversion which would get me out of the house. I contacted Sifu Gary Wragg at the end of 2007 and had my first lesson in Tai Chi Chuan on the 10th of January 2008. I knew next to nothing about the art at the time and I remember leaving the training session quite bewildered. A decade later I understand how lucky I had been to find Wu’s Academy under the direction of Sifu Gary Wragg. Walking home in my bemused state after that first lesson I would never have imagined that it would have such a profound effect on my life right down to the way I draw breath. I had the honour of becoming Sifu Gary Wragg's Closed Door student in November 2017. I teach beginners at the Bethnal Green, London Academy.
