I’ve never really been a big fan of martial arts actually…..always preferred the finesse of racket games and the camaraderie of team sports. Yet somehow, a good friend convinced me to give Taichi a shot in 2012. I totally imagined it would be a short 6-month course but surprised myself at how much I actually enjoy the classes. It is nothing like what I imagined Taichi would be like.
I’m fascinated and intrigued by the breadth and depth of the art. It is a continuous journey of discovery and learning which provides for self-improvement and personal satisfaction. On the other hand, the inability to accurately execute “seemingly simple” moves is a constant challenge and source of frustration. I guess it is this bittersweet mix of emotions and takeaways that will enable my interest to be sustained for a long time.
We have also been very privileged to have amazing instructors who are truly inspirational with their selfless teaching, dedication to the school and passion for the art. On top of that, there are many wonderful friendships formed in the school.
Looking forward to the journey ahead for many years to come!
